In September of 2015, Triple O’s had a couple of new promotional items, both of which I tried out in the first week of October. They were the NEW Peanut Butter, Bacon & Jalapeño Burger and the NEW Loaded Cajun Fries.
Peanut butter on a burger? Can’t say I’d had that before. As noted on the Triple O’s site, this new burger included 100% Canadian beef patty, peanut butter, smoked bacon, jalapeños, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. Yup, you can definitely taste the creamy peanut butter for sure, when you take every bite of this burger. Other than that, it’s your typical beef patty burger with jalapeños. It cost C$7.99.
As for the cajun fries, they were made from Kennebec potatoes. They came in a box and were tossed in Cajun blackening spice, topped with crumbled smoked bacon, pickled jalapeños, and Jack cheese, and drizzled with yogurt cucumber dressing. They cost C$4.99. The problem I had was that they felt cold…even though they were just freshly served from the kitchen.
I’d probably have the fries again. They make a decent snack. I mean, it’s pretty good that they had bacon bits and jalapeños. The portions were enough for me.
